In regular verbs only -ed is added. Eg: play - played, dance - danced

In irrgular form, the word is changed by changing some letters. eg: write - wrote, buy - bought

When the subject agrees in number and person, we get finite verbs.

Eg: Himanshu goes to school. Here, Himanshu is singular and goes - is also singular. So Singular Noun - Singular Verb

Eg: Himanshu and Gunesh go to school. Here, Himanshu and Gunesh are plural and go - is also plural . So, Plural noun with plural verb.

When the subject and verb doesnot agree in number and person, it is called non-finite verbs. 1. Infinitive - (v 1) is it also called base form. eg: to eat, to dance 2. Gerund - It acts as a subject of a sentence. It is verb + ing (acts as noun) Eg. Swimming is a good exercise. Swimming is gerund. Swim + ing 3. Present Participle - This is also verb + ing but acts as an adjective.
