The main objective to be achieved is to design a system model to secure electronic documents from people who do not have access rights.
Definition
Digital rights are human and legal rights that allow individuals to access, use, create and publish digital content on devices such as computers and mobile phones, as well as in virtual spaces and communities (Reventlow, 2017).
Intellectual Property Rights According to Raghbir (2004) Intellectual property rights (IPR) refers to the legal rights given to the inventor or creator to protect his invention or creation for a certain period of time. These legal rights confer an exclusive right to the inventor/creator or his assignee to fully utilize his invention/creation for a given period of time.
Types New Delhi Law Publisher (2005) explained that on the basis of type of invention and creation of human mind and their applications the intellectual property rights are classified as follows: 1. Patents 2. Trademarks 3. Industrial designs 4. Layout design of semiconductor integrated circuit 5. Geographic indications of source 6. Copyright and related rights (literary and artistic works, musical work, artistic works, photographic work, motion pictures, computer programmers and performing arts and broadcasting work)
Participatory Rights Management Participatory rights management refers to a system or approach where individuals or stakeholders actively engage in the management and decision-making processes related to their rights, typically in areas such as intellectual property, digital content, or governance. It involves giving people a voice and influence in how their rights are used, licensed, or protected, often through collective or collaborative mechanisms.
Objective : - Understands rights of digital citizens and consumers, including the right to personal data protection and freedom of expression - Knows why opportunities for online participation are unevenly distributed across social groups, due to differences in socioeconomic statuses, disabilities and physical location Benefit : - Equipped to develop cognitive skills to understand legislation within their own practices to ensure digital rights are upheld and respected online - Develops complex systems-level thinking to uphold individual and community rights to online participation while monitoring and improving systems - Holds contradictory ideas and ideals in tension
