Purpose
A Quality Register is used to summarize all the qualitymanagement activities that are planned or have taken place
Its purpose is to:
Issue a unique reference foreach quality activity
Act as a pointer to the qualityrecords for a product
Act as a summary of the numberand type of quality activities

Derivation:
The format and composition of the QualityRegister defined in the QualityManagement Strategy
Entries are made when a quality activity isentered on a Stage Plan for the currentmanagement stage.
The remaining information comes from theactual performance of the quality activity
The signoff date is when all corrective actionitems have been signed off.
Format andPresentation:
A Quality Register can take a number offormats, including:
Document, spreadsheet or database
Standalone register or a carry forward inprogress review minutes
Entry in a project management tool
Part of an integrated project register for allrisks, actions, decisions, lessons etc.
Quality Criteria:
A procedure is in place that will ensure thatevery quality activity is entered
Responsibility for the Quality Register hasbeen allocated
Actions are clearly described and assigned
Entries are uniquely identified, including towhich product they refer
Access to the Quality Register is controlled
The Quality Register is kept in a safe place
All quality activities are at an appropriatelevel of control.
