A mind map about a Hotspot app.Edited at 2021-02-09 07:24:04
application based on a three dimensional interactive map where users will be able to discover, share, and connect with the current and future events taking place in the city through a detailed customized experience.
The whole life of the city at the users fingertips.
For both local & tourist users
Perfect for a tourist that doesn't know the city and wants to have the most productive experience during his stay. Tourist will be the main target for launch product.
Perfect for active "Barcelonins" who want to find interesting activities or simply know what's happening around their city. "Barcelonins" will fully take advantage of our platform after the first updates, where more "not specifically turistic" Hotspots will be added
AESTHETICS OF THE PLATFORM
City of Barcelona, Spain
It's our city (most knowledge)
Recent, modern, active city
Young and Touristic city (fits perfectly with our target)
AJUNTAMENT DE BARCELONA
The institution has shown great interest towards the digitalization of the city. Many apps have been launched under the scope of the institution during the last years (all unsuccessful)
The institution also presents the program "Barcelona Activa". This program functions as a "start-up incubator network" where our application would fit perfectly.
Continous updates where new Hotspots or full categores of Hotspots will be added. The final product would cover practically anything of public interest taking place in the city
Expand the Model to other big cities in Spain, Europe and worldwide
Users will be able to create their own Hotspots in order to reach out to people
City Advertising in the application: "The worldwide Expo is taking place in Madrid the next month and the "Ayuntamiento de Madrid" or the expo organizers pay for an ad that will be shown to all the users all around the world. Cities will have a perfect platform to reach out to possible tourists.
Each Hotspot will have a public forum where users can publish anything related to the place or the activity, and at the same time interact with the posts of other users
Infinite number of features will have the possibility to be added and tested in the application thanks to continious updates
Appealing Characteristics (used to enhance the app's mission)

Simple/clear/easy to use
futuristic looking design
put emphasis on the importance of the user having an enjoyable experience

Water zones will have the water texture (sea, rivers, fountains)

Brief description of the place/activity. Sagrada Familia example: SF is a large unfinished Roman Catholic minor basilica in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. What do we mean by “anything around”? In order to refer to this “anything” we’ll be using the noun “HotSpot”. “HotSpot” refers to all the points of public interest in Barcelona: the Cathedral of “La Sagrada Familia” and the “Camp Nou” are perfect examples of Hotspots; The space in “el Forum” where the festival “Primavera Sound” takes place every summer would be another example of a HotSpot, in this case, a temporary HotSpot that will only be shown in the application during the festival’s week. "HOTSPOTS" are places where the user could physically access and perform leisure-related actions: parks, museums, sports... For the launch of the app, we will focus on a list of the following 20 Barcelona main public attractions

DIVIDED IN 3 CLASSES
CITY HALL CURRENT PRODUCTS
FAILURES. Less successful competitor. Unknown to locals and tourists. High variety of apps with very specific goals and coverage. Failed investments. Dead platforms. Our application will gather into 1 most of the information of all the different apps.
Rutes Sarria, Zoo Barcelona, Barcelona a la butxaca
Most similar product and company. They also base their platform on a map. A map where they locate icons in the places where events (all type: sports, music...) will take place. They make organizers publish their events: "Do you organize events?Add your agenda directly, we will help you to reach thousands of people in the area"
Most successful competitor. Known but not basic/common tools among our target. Same goal as us: "info of what's going one around you". They fail to provide an appealing platform that will motivate/incentive the user to spend time navigating through it. They match the ultimate goal of our application.
DIFFERENTATION FROM THE COMPETITORS
BEST NAVIGATION EXPERIENCE THANKS TO THE BEST PLATFORM
We will differentiate from them thanks to our key element: the attractiveness of the platform: the 3D-designed map, together with the colours, the personalization and the entire high-quality of the user experience will lead to high number of users and motivate them to constantly navigate through the app.
How does the application generate revenue?
The application will be used as a platform for promotion. Thanks to the info displayed on the app, HOTSPOTS will be able to reach out to more people: more sales... If the HostSpots are places/activities owned by the "Ajuntament de Barcelona", then the
% of tickets bought through the app (in collaboration with the ticketing platforms Ticketea, Stubhub, Ticketmaster...
Future updates can include: Paid Premium version where the user has access to more cities other than the one he's currently located
After the 20 first public Hotspots are tested, we can start including private HotSpots. The organizers of this private Hotspots will have to pay in order to be displayed on the application. In order to be able to charge for this service, we must first grow with our launch product. Only if we acquire a decent user base we will be able to negotiate with private HotSpots
How does our company generate revenue?
Sale of property rights, shares...
If launch product in Barcelona is successful, we will money by exporting the platform to other cities
Ownership of a platform with a high user base and high user trafick. This will generate a very valuable database that can be shared for high amounts of money
