The institution has shown great interest towards the digitalization of the city. Many apps have been launched under the scope of the institution during the last years (all unsuccessful)
The institution also presents the program "Barcelona Activa". This program functions as a "start-up incubator network" where our application would fit perfectly.
Continous updates where new Hotspots or full categores of Hotspots will be added. The final product would cover practically anything of public interest taking place in the city

What do we mean by “anything around”? In order to refer to this “anything” we’ll be using the noun “HotSpot”. “HotSpot” refers to all the points of public interest in Barcelona: the Cathedral of “La Sagrada Familia” and the “Camp Nou” are perfect examples of Hotspots; The space in “el Forum” where the festival “Primavera Sound” takes place every summer would be another example of a HotSpot, in this case, a temporary HotSpot that will only be shown in the application during the festival’s week. "HOTSPOTS" are places where the user could physically access and perform leisure-related actions: parks, museums, sports... They make organizers publish their events: "Do you organize events?Add your agenda directly, we will help you to reach thousands of people in the area"
Most successful competitor. Known but not basic/common tools among our target. Same goal as us: "info of what's going one around you". They fail to provide an appealing platform that will motivate/incentive the user to spend time navigating through it. They match the ultimate goal of our application.

We will differentiate from them thanks to our key element: the attractiveness of the platform: the 3D-designed map, together with the colours, the personalization and the entire high-quality of the user experience will lead to high number of users and motivate them to constantly navigate through the app.
How does the application generate revenue?
The application will be used as a platform for promotion. Thanks to the info displayed on the app, HOTSPOTS will be able to reach out to more people: more sales... If the HostSpots are places/activities owned by the "Ajuntament de Barcelona", then the
% of tickets bought through the app (in collaboration with the ticketing platforms Ticketea, Stubhub, Ticketmaster...
Future updates can include: Paid Premium version where the user has access to more cities other than the one he's currently located
After the 20 first public Hotspots are tested, we can start including private HotSpots. The organizers of this private Hotspots will have to pay in order to be displayed on the application. In order to be able to charge for this service, we must first grow with our launch product. Only if we acquire a decent user base we will be able to negotiate with private HotSpots
