Ibn Battuta was born in February 24, 1304, in Tangier, Morocco.
In June 1325, at the age of twenty-one, Ibn Battuta set off from his hometwon on a hajj to mecca a journey that would ordinarily take sixteen months.
Ibn Battuta traveled the Islamic world and far east of the 14th century CE covering 75,000 miles (120,000) between 1325-1352.
He met at. Least 60 rulers and a much greater number of viziers, governors, and other dignitaries.
Ibn Battuta wrote a famous book called Rihla in 1352.
