This is a Mind Map Of The Supreme Council For Women. The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) is Bahrain's advisory body on women's issues to the government. Sheikha Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is the chairperson. Hala Al Ansari is the current Secretary-General of SCW. SCW was founded to promote women's rights and full involvement in society in Bahrain and has been at the forefront of the movement to introduce a unified personal status law (see Women's rights in Bahrain). It has also published papers, collaborated on campaigns with other women's rights organizations, and promoted female candidates in municipal and general elections in 2006. The Council's Dr. Munira Fakhro, who ran for the ex-Marxist Waad, was one of the candidates in the 2006 election, which was conducted on November 26, 2006. Dr. Nada Haffadh, a former SCW activist, has been named Bahrain's first full female cabinet minister. From 2004 until 2007, she served as Minister of Health.
