DEFINITION OF UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS: THESE NOUNS DON'T HAVE A PLURAL FORM. These nouns can't be preceded by a/an because they have one form and the verb is always singular. Examples: Is there any fruit at home? would you like some coke ?
1- group of uncountable nouns- the first group of uncountable comes from liquid, or several substances rice-flour-rain-pasta-milk-butter- gold- chewing gum-gold or abstract nouns -anger -happiness health-luck-patience- sadness
I can transform them in a plural form using: a kilo= two kilos a tin of salmon/ two tins of salmon a litre of wine/two litres of wine a bar of soap/two bars of soap a piece of cake/ two pieces of cake a packet of salt/two packets of salt a tube of toothpaste two tubes of toothpaste.

3- third group: this one group is the most diffucult one because in italian they are countable nouns and in english thay are uncountable: luggage-advice-information- equipment- business-damage-pasta-money-music-lightning-rain-progress-news-transport-violence-hair-furniture-homework.
4- fourth group some nouns can be countable and uncountable but they change their meaning : business= affarea business = attivita' commerciale businesses = attivita' commerciale cloth = stoffa a cloth= uno straccio- clothes vestiti glass= vetro a glass = bicchiere glasses hair=capelli hairs= peli
