One of the main systematic causes of the first world war would have been the formation of alliances. The Triple Entente and the Central Powers divided Europe, at one stage, most countries were either in once alliance or the other.

With the Germans being fully in support of the Moroccans, this made tensions worse between France and Germany

Both of the Moroccan crisis ruined relations with the two countries, France and Germany. This lead to the formation of alliances, the Triple Entente between France, UK and Russia, and the Central Powers, between Germany, A-H, and Italy

In the early 1870s, France has declared war on Prussia, due to the Prussian claim over the Spanish throne. Prussia eventually won the war, and humiliated France. Alsace-Loraine was annexed into the newly formed German Empire, this permanently damaged relations between the two powers.

Due to Bismarck being kicked out of his position by Kaiser Wilhelm II, several changes were made. Germany completely ruined relations with Russia, forcing them into the Triple Entente with France and Britain

In June, 1914, Franz Ferdinand went to Sarajevo, Bosnia to inspect the soldiers, while he was on his way, several people attempted to assassinate him, but failed. After Franz Ferdinand made the wrong turn while going to visit the wounded people in the Hospital, he was shot by a man named Gavilro Princip. This sparked tensions between Serbia and Austria-Hungary, and after the Serbs refused the Austro-Hungarian demands, war was declared by Austria in late July, 1914. This was the event to completely spark world war one.

With the massive German naval build up in the early 1900s, Britain was forced to upgrade its massive navy, so Germany could not out perform it.

This was mainly caused by the Sarajevo crisis in 1914, where Franz Ferdinand was murdered by Serbian nationalists living in Bosnia.
