The Confessions

Main Idea
Augustine gives an account of his life, from birth to baptism into
Catholicism, using his own story as an object lesson to convert
the Restless Heart
readers to his theological views. He testifies to his experience of
God's love and explains the first book of the Bible, Genesis, both
implicitly in his life story and explicitly in a final exegesis.
