Famous princesses in Finnish history

Finland too has its famous princesses in history, such as Princess Margaretha, known for her wisdom and philanthropy though she never became queen. Princess Kristina, though not natively Finnish, strengthened ties between Finland and Sweden through marriage. Princess Irene, the last Grand Duchess of Finland, witnessed the transition from grand duchy to republic. In modern times, while Finland has no actual princesses, historical figures like Maria Olofsdotter are revered as princess-like figures, their deeds inspiring later generations.
