MindMap Gallery CLAVICLE (collar bone)
The clavicle is a long bone that connects the upper limb to the trunk. It is located at the superior aspect of the thoracic cage and serves to support the upper limb and protect the thoracic cavity. The lateral end of the clavicle articulates with the acromion of the scapula, while the medial end articulates with the manubrium of the sternum. The clavicle provides attachment for the sternocleidomastoid, trapezius, and deltoid muscles.
