training facilitator
The difference between a facilitator and a trainer
The trainer thinks I have the right answers, I am the center of the class, and the students come to learn because they lack knowledge.
The facilitator believes that students have appropriate answers and that students are the masters. By asking questions and assigning tasks, participants can find answers through discussions and put forward action plans. Students can reach consensus through smart connections and create effective results.
4 ways to motivate
focused conversational approach
Data Level What do you remember about today’s session? What are the main focuses? What attracts you?
Experiential level What is your favorite part? What do these parts remind you of? how do you feel?
Level of understanding: Please describe your understanding of the above part in your own words. What is the value of this part to you? What kind of inspiration did it bring to you?
Decision Level After listening to this, what would you do differently? What do we need to do to put these ideas into practice? What is the key to our next move? Which ones can be acted upon immediately?
World coffee co-creation method
Set the situation: Why do we want to do this World Coffee? Who needs to be invited? What kind of space needs to be prepared?
Set up questions and ask important participants to refine the main topics they want to solve in this event.
Set up the discussion process into groups. Each group selects a timekeeper (time management) and a desk facilitator (smart questioner) before asking effective questions. 1. What resources do we have now? 2. What other information and resources do you need to search for? 3. What is the significance of the topic discussed this time? 4. What is important to you? 5. What are the difficulties and opportunities we face? 6. If you were standing on the moon and looking at this problem now, what new ideas would you have?
Cross-pollination encourages participants to move between different tables and communicate with different group members, allowing wisdom to connect across distances.
Summary and discussion Summary of all groups Summary and discussion of the information collected by this group and other groups Frequently asked questions: 1. If we want to innovate and reform this issue, what actions need to be taken 2. How can we devote ourselves to it? 3. What challenges may we face and how should we face them? 4. How can we create more possibilities for the future? 5. What kind of seeds can we sow today that will be of great significance to the future?
Collective Sharing Invite everyone to share the harvest and results of this activity theme and action plan
team consensus method
Focus on the topic. Find the focus topic. What kind of visualization results and team experience do you want?
Brainstorming collects participants’ ideas through brainstorming. Three principles: no self-effacing, no criticism, no blocking. Principle of quantity: the more, the better. Recording principle: all ideas need to be recorded. Principle of leveraging: you can use the ideas of others Continue to propose new ideas based on the principle of equality: all participants are equal
Classify and arrange. Sort out all the ideas. Divide all the ideas into 3-7 columns. Put those with the same meaning together or merge them. Too few are over-merging, too many are too scattered and are not conducive to memory.
Extract the central word. Through the previous link, find a keyword in each of the 3-7 columns and express the central meaning of this column in a concise and concise way.
Illustration gives meaning. Use a suitable diagram to reflect the overall idea of the above content, such as a fishbone diagram. The diagram clearly reflects the key points and action points discussed on this topic.
teamwork method
Planning phase: Identify a business problem, obtain executive support, select participants, create a meeting agenda for the event, and arrange a logistics team to promote it
Facilitation stage: Introduce the goals and process of this event, conduct collective discussions on problems and solutions, formulate action plans, and accept questions from senior executives (questions do not carry judgments and conclusions)
Implementation stage: implement action suggestions, organize follow-up inspections and publish them, and report on the results and progress achieved
Notes on the group brainstorming method: Focus on the problem, identify the participants, analyze the reasons to find obstacles, clarify the goals and aim at the bull's-eye, brainstorm, connect wisdom, screen ideas, make careful decisions, group reports, and face challenges head-on.
Book of Rites, Book of Learning
It is the earliest classic document recognized globally that systematically explains education, advocating mutual learning and co-creation-oriented learning rather than lecturing in class.
Teaching is a process of educating others while also learning from others
It focuses on real issues for discussion and inspires students to take planned actions.
Learning should not be greedy for too much without seeking a deeper understanding, nor should it be limited by a narrow range of knowledge, nor should it be regarded as too simple and without in-depth thinking, nor should it be self-righteous and complacent.
Every teacher needs to think about what we want to spread in this era and what method we should use to spread it? The unity of knowledge and action in Yangming’s Mind Method is worthy of our enlightenment through experience and practice.
