MindMap Gallery The Formation and Evolution of Hinduism
The formation and evolution of Hinduism have undergone a long and complex process. During the early Vedic period (around 1500 BCE to 600 BCE), the main scriptures of Hinduism, the Vedas and the Upanishads, gradually emerged, laying the foundation for Hindu philosophy and religious practice. The later Vedic period (around 600 BCE to 400 BCE) saw the rise of Brahmanism, which began to formalize religious rituals and teachings within Hinduism. The Epic period (around 400 BCE to 400 CE) saw the circulation of the two epics, the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, which further enriched the cultural and religious practices of Hinduism. Throughout this process, Hinduism continuously absorbed and integrated various religious and philosophical ideas, resulting in the complex and diverse Hindu culture we see today.
