The difference between aldehydes and ketones

The main differences between aldehydes and ketones lie in the location of the carbonyl group and their reactivity. Aldehydes have a carbonyl group attached to the end of a hydrocarbon chain and are more reactive, easily being oxidized. Ketones have a carbonyl group between two hydrocarbon chains and are less reactive. Additionally, aldehydes and ketones are widely found in nature, such as in plant volatile oils and fruits.
