MindMap Gallery Plant Introduction to Lychee Tree
Lychee trees are cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions, preferably in well-drained, acidic soils. Propagation is commonly done through seeds or grafting. The trees grow to a medium height with a spreading canopy and require regular pruning for a healthy shape and improved fruit production. The fruit, a drupe, features a tough, reddish-brown exocarp, a sweet, juicy mesocarp, and a large, hard endocarp (seed). Lychees are highly perishable and are best consumed fresh or processed shortly after harvest.
