MindMap Gallery Neutralization reaction
A neutralization reaction is a chemical process in which acids and bases interact to produce salt and water. For example, the neutralization reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide produces sodium chloride and water. In neutralization reactions, indicators such as phenolphthalein and methyl orange are often used to judge the progress and endpoint of the reaction. When acids and bases completely react, the pH value of the solution reaches 7, which is known as the neutralization point, indicating a balanced acidity and alkalinity of the solution.
