MindMap Gallery Application of stem cells in enhancing the ability to resist neurodegenerative diseases
Stem cells play an important role in enhancing the ability to resist neurodegenerative diseases. They contribute to the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and ALS by promoting neuronal regeneration and synaptic plasticity. Neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells are commonly used stem cell types. Cell transplantation and gene therapy are the main methods for stem cell therapy in neurodegenerative diseases. However, challenges such as cell survival and integration into existing neural circuits still need to be overcome to further improve treatment outcomes.
