MindMap Gallery Application of stem cells in improving the ability of anti diabetes
Stem cells have significant effects in improving the ability of anti-diabetes. They contribute to the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes by promoting pancreatic beta-cell regeneration and increasing insulin secretion. Embryonic stem cells and islet-derived progenitor cells are important sources for stem cell therapy in diabetes. Cell replacement therapy and islet transplantation are the main strategies for stem cell therapy in diabetes. Clinical trials have shown positive effects of stem cell therapy in blood glucose control, but challenges such as immune rejection still need to be addressed.
