MindMap Gallery The function of ethylene glycol
Ethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless liquid that is soluble in water, playing a significant role in multiple fields. As the main component of automobile antifreeze and industrial coolants, ethylene glycol effectively lowers the freezing point of water, preventing it from freezing in cold weather. In addition, ethylene glycol is used as a solvent, lubricant, and moisturizing agent, widely applied in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries. Although ethylene glycol is relatively low in toxicity, large ingestions can pose a hazard to human health.
