MindMap Gallery Method for producing hydrochloric acid
The method for producing hydrochloric acid primarily uses sodium chloride (salt) as the raw material. Sodium chloride solution is electrolyzed to generate chlorine gas, hydrogen gas, and sodium hydroxide. The chlorine gas and hydrogen gas are then reacted under ignition or catalysis to produce hydrogen chloride, which is absorbed by water to generate hydrochloric acid. The hydrochloric acid is further refined through distillation and concentration to obtain the desired concentration.
