MindMap Gallery Introduction to Methanol
Methanol, also known as methyl alcohol, is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor and is highly soluble in water. It serves as an important solvent, fuel, and chemical raw material with wide applications in multiple industrial fields, especially in the production of formaldehyde and other chemicals. However, methanol is toxic, and ingestion can lead to blindness or even death. Industrially, methanol is mainly produced by synthesizing natural gas or coal.
