MindMap Gallery Introduction to formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is a colorless gas with a strong pungent odor and is highly soluble in water. It is widely used in industry as an important component of adhesives, paints, disinfectants, and various chemical raw materials. However, formaldehyde is harmful to human health, and long-term exposure to high concentrations of formaldehyde may increase the risk of cancer. Therefore, formaldehyde concentrations in indoor environments need to be strictly controlled. Industrially, formaldehyde is mainly produced by oxidizing methanol.
