MindMap Gallery Introduction to Sodium Hydroxide
Sodium hydroxide is a strong alkaline white solid that is highly soluble in water and releases a large amount of heat. It is widely used in papermaking, textiles, detergent manufacturing, and wastewater treatment. However, it is highly corrosive to skin and eyes, so appropriate protective equipment must be worn during handling. It is mainly produced through the electrolysis of saltwater (chlor-alkali industry).
