Method for producing nitric acid

The method for producing nitric acid primarily relies on the catalytic oxidation of ammonia. Initially, ammonia gas is mixed with air and fed into a catalytic oxidation reactor. In the presence of a catalyst, ammonia reacts with oxygen in the air to produce nitric oxide. Subsequently, nitric oxide is further oxidized to nitrogen dioxide, which reacts with water to form nitric acid. Throughout the process, reaction conditions such as temperature, pressure, and catalyst type must be strictly controlled to enhance nitric acid yield and purity. Additionally, attention must be paid to waste gas and wastewater treatment to ensure environmental compliance.
