Work and Energy
Work is defined as a force acting upon an object to cause a displacement.
W = F * S
SI Unit - Joule(J)
Work is a scalar quantity
Work done can be positive, negative or zero
When force acts in the same direction as that of displacement(Angle between F and S is 0 degree)
When force acts opposite to the direction of displacement(Angle between F and S is 180 degree)
When force acts perpendicular to displacement(Angle between F and S is 90 degree)
Work is also said to be zero if the force is not able to produce any displacement (S = 0)
The commercial unit of energy is kWh
The energy of a body is its capacity of doing work.
Types of Energy:
Energy of an object by virtue of its motion
K.E = 1/2 mv^2
Energy of an object by virtue of its position
P.E = mgh

Power is the rate of doing work or work done in unit time.
