CELL WALL - It is the external boundry of living cell. - Structure- Three layerd structure made up of lipids and protins. - It allows the diffusion of substance into and out of the cell.
NUCLEUS -Largest structure present in center of cell. Shape -Sperical It is bounded by nuclear membrane . FUNCTION -Support and protect the cell. -Control center of the cell -Help in the formation of Ribosomes
The nucleus contains (i) Nucleolus (ii) chromatin . (i)NUCLEOLUS -It is highly coiled filamentous structure present in nucleus - It is surrounded by membrane . -It contains numerous granules. . (ii) CHROMATIN -These are fibrous threads present in the nucleus. -They are composed of DNA and proteins. . -It carry genetic information.
Sub Topic
CYTOPLASM - LOCATION -Inside the cell membrane. - It contains cell organelles - E.g-endoplasmic,mitrocondria etc
ORGANALLES OF CYTOPALSM
(i)ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUAM It consist of two membrane which are seprated by a space. . Rough ER/Graulas smooth ER/Agranular - It main function is synthesis of - It main function is synthesis of lipids. protiens. - Coverd in ribosomes - has no ribosomes . . (ii) GOLGI APPARATUS -SHAPE-Cup shaped structure -LOCATION-between nucleus & apex of cell -It contain vesicles -It concentrate protien before their secretion . FUNCTION -It is site of formation of lysosomes. -It is wrapping and packaging department of the cell. -It produces secretion granules which store harmones
CENTROSOMES - Cell contains a pair of tiny, cylindrical structure called centrioles visible only in cell division. - SHAPE- Rod shaped. -LOCATION-Near nucleus. -Contains two centrioles. . FUNCTiON They are concerned with the moments of chromosomes during cell division
LYSOSOMES - These are larger irregular structure surrounded by unit membrane. - LOCATION-Found in the cytoplasm . - It contain hydrolytic enzymes. - It breakdown bacteria and cell debris. - A typical cell may contain serveral hundred lysosomes . FUNCTION - It acts as a form of digestive system for the cell. -It engulf exogenous substance e.g-bacteria -When cell dies, lysososomal enzymes causes autolysis of the remnant.
MITOCHONDRIA - It is also called powerhouse of cell. Structure-Two membrane bond. - Outer layer is smooth. - It contain enzyme . - Inner layer is folded into sheets of tubeles. - It made up of protein, pholipids & RNA. . FUNCTION -These are power generating unit of the cells. - Also contain DNA and can synthesize protiens.
