the play opens with Mickey and Edward's deaths
Mrs J is persuaded by Mrs L to give her one of her twins
Mrs L threatens Mrs J & then fires her
we see the contrasting education & school experiences of Mickey & Edwards. E attend to a private school, while M goes to a state secondary modern school
M&E meet up again as young adults & rekindle their friendship
Mrs L violentely attacks Mrs J
M accidentely shoots E & is then shot by the police
Mrs J tells E&M they are brothers
M becomes addicted to antidepressants
M commits a crime with Sammy & go to jail
the boys fall out bc M has had to grow up too quickly and E has not
Mickey & Linda are getting married & are having a baby
they meet a girl, throws rocks at her house, the police officer then cacthes both of them, he's nice to Mrs L but very strict to Mrs J, both moms use this as an excuse for them not to see each other again and to change countries
M&E meet & when they discover they share the same bd, they become blood brothersby making a sort of ritual, which makes a pact between them to remain friends for life
tiny cut on their hands & mingling their blood
time has moved forward; M & E are now 7
