Provides leadership and guidance to the Qatar Staff Council executive team

Liaises with stakeholders in Qatar and Pittsburgh

Oversees Qatar Staff Council and ensures that we are bonding as a community and further developing professionally

Responsible for ensuring that the annual general

elections are carried out effectively and efficiently

Provides assistance to the committee heads to ensure all planned activities and events are well executed

Coordinates process for constitutional changes

Attends meetings and liaises with different departments of the university with the Chair

Coordinates the annual university-wide Family Fun Day per academic year, including working with facilities, managing logistics, creating advertising, and managing budgets

Coordinates Qatar Staff Council breakfasts, including logistics, creating advertising, managing budget

Coordinates two additional staff events/initiatives per academic year – to be proposed at the beginning of the term

Liaises with the Director of HR each month for a Acqui are a list of staff who have work anniversaries (number of years) and new employees, and coordinates the writing and delivery of the anniversary cards and welcome emails

Identifies staff members to talk briefly about their roles at CMU-Q at general staff meetings, to facilitate awareness of everyone who works here

Works with the Dean’s Office to organize the Charles E. Thorpe Awards and the 5, 10 and 15 Year Service Award

Takes the minutes and attendance at executive meetings

Coordinates communications between the executive and the staff, including: the newsletter, reminders, digital posters for events, and other email communications

Maintains the Qatar Staff Council schedule, including executive meetings and events

Liaises with Qatar Foundation Community Building and provides information to the CMU-Q community Education Citywide events

Manages the Facebook private group and post content appropriately based on internal Qatar Staff Council events and Education City events

Develops, designs and distributes the Staff Council newsletters

Oversees the finances under the control of the Qatar Staff Council, reports on the finances monthly, and submits a yearly operating budget to the C.O.O of Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar

Leads professional development committee Devises new initiatives for staff that are professionally-focused Organizes twice a semester learning event that focus on relevant areas of interest

Arranges lunch for each event and promotes it in advance via digital signage and email/FB notice to CMU-Q staff members

These professional development events may be led by in-house, existing staff or may include outside consultants which the University agrees to bring in for staff professional development purposes Liaises with various CMU-Q departments (HR, IT, etc.) to find topics and areas about which staff can share ideas, tips, and tricks Solicits feedback and new ideas from staff for future professional development offerings
