There are different types of diabetes, which include:
1. Type 1 diabetes: This type of diabetes usually develops in childhood or adolescence. It occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys the insulinproducing cells in the pancreas, leading to insulin deficiency.

2. Type 2 diabetes: This is the most common type of diabetes and usually develops in adulthood. It occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin or does not produce enough insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
3. Gestational diabetes: This type of diabetes occurs during pregnancy and usually goes away after the baby is born. It can increase the risk of both the mother and the baby developing type 2 diabetes in the future.
4. Other types: There are also other less common types of diabetes, such as MODY (MaturityOnset Diabetes of the Young), LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adulthood), and secondary diabetes, which occurs as a result of certain medical conditions or medications.
