MindMap Gallery Red blood cell
Red Blood Cells (RBCs) primarily function to transport oxygen to tissues, remove carbon dioxide, and have a specific composition. RBCs are rich in hemoglobin, a protein that binds with oxygen and transports it throughout the body via blood circulation. Simultaneously, they carry carbon dioxide produced by tissue metabolism back to the lungs for gas exchange. The composition of RBCs mainly includes the cell membrane, cytoplasm, and hemoglobin.
