Avoid exercise or emotional excitement

Make sure the patient rests for at least 5 minutes

Use a blood pressure monitor with adequate cuff width

Make sure the cuff is the right length for the patient's lower limbs

Make sure the cuff and stethoscope are in good condition

Clean the cuff surface to avoid contamination

Have the patient lie down or sit comfortably

Lower limbs should be at the same level as your heart

Wrap the cuff around the patient's thigh

Make sure the cuff is close to the skin but not compressive

Use a stethoscope to find arterial pulses

Inflate until arterial pulse disappears

Deflate slowly

Make sure the readings are accurate

Check if there are significant differences

Too tight may cause high readings

Too loose may cause low readings

Wounds or edema may affect accuracy

Ensure reliability and reproducibility of results
