JTBD theory, full name Jobs To Be Done (Jobs To Be Done Theory), is a theoretical framework proposed by Harvard Business School professor Clayton M. Christensen in the early 21st century. This theory emphasizes that the real motivation of consumers to purchase products or services is not just the need for product features, but the desire to complete a specific "job" or achieve a specific goal. “Work” here can be functional, social or emotional tasks.
